Standards we apply
Who this is for
What we prepare
A process built on dates, not hope
Confirm the role
Before anything else: if you want us as your auditor, we cannot also prepare your filing. This is the first conversation, not the last.
Assess what’s filing-ready
We compare your current financials and schedules against what the specific form actually requires.
Prepare
Statements, disclosures and supporting schedules built to your filing deadline.
Hand off
Your package goes to your auditor and your securities counsel in the form they need it, and we stay available through their review.
We plan backward from your deadline
Filing dates, plan-year deadlines and board meetings do not move. Neither does our schedule. Every engagement starts with a written timeline built backward from your date, and we hold the milestones we commit to.
If we prepare it, we cannot audit it
Independence rules do not allow a firm to audit financial statements it prepared. If JV CPA performs your accounting or financial statement preparation, your audit must be performed by a different firm — and we will say so at the first conversation, not the fourth.
Choosing which role we take early is faster and far less expensive than unwinding it later.
Questions we get asked
Can you prepare our filing and audit it too?
No. Independence rules prohibit an audit firm from auditing financial statements it prepared. If we prepare your filing, your audit must be performed by a different firm.
We already have an auditor. Can you still help with the filing?
Yes — this is exactly the situation the service is built for. We prepare the filing-ready package; your auditor performs the audit or review independently.
What forms do you support?
10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and the financial sections of S-1, S-11 and Form 10 registration statements.
How close to the deadline can you start?
The earlier the better, but tell us your actual date and we will tell you plainly whether it is achievable rather than guessing.
Filing coming up?
Tell us the form and the date. We will tell you what needs to happen between now and then, and which role we can take with your company.
