If we prepare it, we cannot audit it
Independence rules do not allow a firm to audit financial statements it prepared. If JV CPA performs your accounting or financial statement preparation, your audit must be performed by a different firm — and we will say so at the first conversation, not the fourth.
Choosing which role we take early is faster and far less expensive than unwinding it later.

Two Memorial City Plaza
We work out of Two Memorial City Plaza, an 18-story, 362,000-square-foot Class A tower at Gessner and Barryknoll in Houston’s Memorial City district. It is one of three towers in the Memorial City Plaza complex, is LEED Gold certified and WELL Health-Safety Rated, and recently completed a major renovation of its lobby, plaza and amenity space.
The location is deliberate. Memorial City sits at the Katy Freeway and Beltway 8, which puts us inside twenty minutes of the Energy Corridor, the Galleria and downtown Houston, and within reach of both airports.
For clients travelling in, the building has on-site conference facilities and a covered garage, and a skywalk connects the complex to Hotel ZaZa Memorial and Memorial City Mall — so a board or audit committee can fly in, stay across the walkway and meet without moving a car.
