JV CPA INC. is a Houston public accounting firm registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. We audit SEC filers, private companies, employee benefit plans and not-for-profit organizations.
We are deliberately not a large firm. A company raising twenty million dollars does not need a national brand — it needs a partner who answers the phone, understands what its warrants do to its balance sheet, and knows the difference between a comment letter you can answer and one you cannot.
What we do
Our practice is built on two lines that we keep carefully separate. We perform audits and attestation engagements under PCAOB and AICPA standards. And we provide accounting, financial statement preparation and valuation for companies filing with the SEC. A single company does not receive both from us, because independence rules do not allow it.
We also maintain a tax advisory practice for business owners and individuals, subject to the same independence analysis.
How we work
Engagements are planned backward from your date. Requests arrive as one organized list rather than a trickle. Issues are raised the week we find them, not at the closing meeting. The partner stays on the engagement from planning through report issuance.

Jorge (George) L. Verar, CPA, CFE, CISA
George has practiced for more than twenty years in audit and financial advisory and is licensed as a CPA in both Texas and the Philippines. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Information Systems Auditor — credentials that shape how the firm approaches revenue recognition, related-party transactions and IT general controls in companies whose systems grew faster than their accounting departments. Under his leadership, JV CPA INC. was approved as a PCAOB-registered firm in 2025 and is currently engaged as auditor of record for multiple SEC reporting companies.

Registration and oversight
JV CPA INC. is registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (Reg. No. 7333). Issuer audit engagements are subject to PCAOB oversight and inspection, and our Form AP filings are publicly available through the PCAOB. The firm is enrolled in the peer review program for its non-issuer attest work.

Two Memorial City Plaza
We work out of Two Memorial City Plaza, an 18-story, 362,000-square-foot Class A tower at Gessner and Barryknoll in Houston’s Memorial City district. It is one of three towers in the Memorial City Plaza complex, is LEED Gold certified and WELL Health-Safety Rated, and recently completed a major renovation of its lobby, plaza and amenity space.
The location is deliberate. Memorial City sits at the Katy Freeway and Beltway 8, which puts us inside twenty minutes of the Energy Corridor, the Galleria and downtown Houston, and within reach of both airports.
For clients travelling in, the building has on-site conference facilities and a covered garage, and a skywalk connects the complex to Hotel ZaZa Memorial and Memorial City Mall — so a board or audit committee can fly in, stay across the walkway and meet without moving a car.
